ABOUT
Knowing where to look is only the beginning.
Grand Central Consulting is a research and strategic consulting firm providing customized research services and counsel to political campaigns, corporations, nonprofit organizations, law firms, real estate interests, and other clients confronting complex situations.
Founded in 2010, Grand Central was built on the concept that effective research requires more than access to information. It requires knowing where to look, what questions to ask, how to recognize what matters, and how to put the findings in context.
Over the years, the firm has conducted research for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and major real estate development firms to health care institutions, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, and political campaigns throughout the United States.
While the subjects and circumstances vary, the objective remains the same: provide clients with thorough, carefully sourced research that helps them understand what they are facing, make informed decisions, and achieve their objectives.

ADAM HERBSMAN / PRINCIPAL
Experience spanning politics, business, and public affairs.
Adam Herbsman brings over two decades of experience in strategic research and communications to Grand Central Consulting.
In the political arena, Adam has conducted research for candidates, campaigns, party committees, and advocacy organizations at all levels of government and throughout the United States. Adam’s political experience also includes serving on the staff of the Clinton/Gore 1996 presidential campaign and working for three years as an aide in the United States Senate.
Adam’s experience extends beyond politics. Over the course of his career, Adam has worked with corporations, business organizations, trade associations, nonprofit institutions, and other private-sector clients across a wide range of industries and issues. His earlier work in public relations included clients in asset management, technology, transportation, health care, and the nonprofit sector.
The combination of research and communications experience informs Grand Central’s approach today: finding the facts is essential, but understanding their significance—and how they may be used—is equally important.
Adam earned a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University and a Master’s in Public Policy and Public Administration, with a concentration in Media and Public Affairs, from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
